Vulcanization pressure refers to the pressure per unit area of the rubber mixture during vulcanization. In general, in addition to some cloth pieces and sponge rubber, other rubber products need to apply certain pressure when curing.
Rubber vulcanization pressure is an important factor to ensure the geometric size, structural density, physical machinery of rubber parts, but also to ensure the smooth surface of parts without defects, to meet the sealing requirements of rubber products.
The main functions are as follows
1) Prevent the mixture in the vulcanization molding process to produce bubbles, improve the compactness of products;
2) Provide the power of mold filling flow of the rubber material, so that the rubber material can fill the whole mold cavity within the specified time;
3) Improve the adhesion of rubber and clamp (curtain, etc.) and the bending resistance of rubber products;
4) Improve the physical and mechanical properties of rubber products.
General principles of selection of vulcanization pressure
1) For the rubber material with low hardness (below 50-SHOREA or lower), the pressure should be small, and the one with high hardness should be large;
2) Thin products choose small, thick products choose large;
3) Products with simple structure choose small, complex structure choose large;
4) Mechanical properties require high selection, low selection;
5) When the curing temperature is higher, the pressure can be smaller, and when the temperature is lower, the pressure should be higher.
The selection of vulcanization pressure needs to consider the following factors
1) Formulation of rubber compound;
2) the size of plastic compound;
3) the structure of the molding mold (molding, injection, injection, etc.);
4) Type of vulcanizing equipment (plate vulcanizing machine, injection vulcanizing machine, injection vulcanizing machine, vacuum vulcanizing machine, etc.);
5) Structural characteristics of products.
For curing pressure, some rubber manufacturers at home and abroad have the following empirical values for reference
1) Mold pressing and moving mold injection pressure curing method, the mold cavity curing pressure is: 10~20Mpa;
2) Injection pressure curing mode of the mold cavity curing pressure is: 0~150Mpa;
3) With the increase of curing pressure, the static stiffness of the product also increases, while the shrinkage rate gradually decreases; (In the domestic vibration damping rubber industry, for the adjustment of product stiffness, is still commonly used to increase or reduce the product used by the rubber hardness, and in foreign countries, has been widely used to improve or reduce the product curing rubber curing pressure to adjust the static stiffness of the product.)
4) With the continuous improvement of vulcanization pressure, product shrinkage rate of the rubber will be an unusual phenomenon, namely when the product of rubber vulcanization pressure reaches 83 mpa, the rubber product shrinkage rate of 0, if the product of rubber vulcanization pressure to continue rising, product shrinkage rate of the rubber will be negative, that is to say, in this high product rubber vulcanization pressure, Product vulcanized out after parking, the size of the rubber part is larger than the mold design size;
5) Under the mode of molding and injection, the vulcanization pressure of the rubber material in the mold cavity always increases first and then decreases with the prolongation of time, and finally is in a flat state;
6) With the increase of vulcanization pressure of the compound, the 300% fixed elongation and tensile strength of the compound increased, while the elongation at break, tearing strength and compressive permanent deformation of the compound decreased;
7) In the process of vulcanization of shock absorbing rubber products, the pressure of the rubber compound in the mold cavity is more than twice as high as that of the molding vulcanization. Products to achieve the same static stiffness required by the rubber hardness is very different. With the increase of vulcanizing pressure, the compression permanent deformation performance of the product is obviously improved.
