Aging and life of neoprene rubber(CR rubber)
1. Hot air aging experiment
According to the hot air aging test standard GB/ T3512-2001, adjust the temperature of the aging chamber to the experimental temperature, so that the temperature change is within ±1℃, make a small hole in one end of the sample with a hole punch, and number it, and hang it in the experimental box with PTFE belt according to the serial number, the spacing between every two samples is not less than 6mm, and start timing from putting in. To the specified time to remove the sample, determination of mechanical properties.
2. Tensile performance test
Tensile properties are measured according to GB6344-86 standard. Test conditions: After aging, the samples were placed at room temperature for 24h and measured at 25℃ with a test rate of 8.33mm/s. Five samples were tested each time and the average value was calculated.
2. Infrared spectrum analysis
Fourier infrared spectroscopy was used to characterize the structural changes of rubber molecular chains before and after aging. The infrared spectrum of the sample was measured by ATR attachment, with a sweep range of 4000 ~ 500cm-1 and a resolution of 8cm-1. The absorption spectrum was obtained by scanning 128 times. It characterized the molecular chain changes of neoprene rubber before aging and after aging at different temperatures when the elongation at break changed to 50%.
2. Life prediction
There are many methods for detecting the life of rubber. At present, the experimental prediction of accelerated aging based on reaction mechanism theory and molecular structure parameters has not been widely used, while the prediction method based on aging kinetics has developed very rapidly. According to the research on the basic theory of rubber aging, the method of extrapolating the storage life and service life of rubber materials by using the results of accelerated aging in ovens with more than 3 temperatures has been gradually improved.
Neoprene does not have a particular outstanding performance, but its overall performance in synthetic rubber is. It HAS: excellent mechanical strength, high ozone and weather resistance, excellent aging resistance, low flammability, good chemical resistance, moderate oil resistance and fire resistance, can be stuck on many substrates.
The disadvantages of neoprene rubber are electrical insulation performance, cold resistance is poor, raw rubber in storage stability is poor.CR Gasket process flow
