Note the following when replacing valve rubber gasket

(1) Selection of gasket. The FORM AND SIZE SHALL BE DETERMINED ACCORDING TO THE FORM AND size OF the joint surface, and the material shall be adapted to the working condition of the valve.

(2) The gasket selected by Xt shall be carefully checked and confirmed without any defects before use.

(3) Before the gasket, the sealing surface should be cleaned.

(4) The position of the gasket installed on the joint surface should be correct.

(5) Only one gasket is allowed.

FAQ: Valve gasket type?

According to the material of the gasket, the gasket can be divided into three kinds: non-metal, metal and composite.

1. Non-metallic non-metallic gaskets mainly include rubber sheet and asbestos rubber sheet, PTFE sheet and glass fiber PTFE sheet.

Rubber sheet elastic and sealing performance is good, and has a certain corrosion resistance, but the use of pressure (less than 16 mpa) and temperature (less than 120℃) limit, affect its range of use.

The use temperature of asbestos rubber board is 400℃, the use of pressure 64 mpa, according to different formulas, can be suitable for acid, alkali and oil and other different media Ptfe plate has good sealing performance and chemical stability, suitable for strong corrosive media, but low temperature resistance (less than 170℃) limits the range of use.

The service temperature of the glass fiber polytetrafluoroethylene plate can reach 280℃, and the copper powder or other metal powder products can be increased to 380℃.

2. Metal metal gasket (ring) with trapezoid, oval, diamond, triangle and tooth shape metal gasket material. It is suitable for inflammable and explosive, high temperature and high pressure media, good sealing performance, has high stability.

3. Composite class Composite class refers to gaskets made of metal and non-metallic materials. It has the performance of metal material under high temperature and high pressure, and the flexibility and elasticity of non-metallic material. Composite gaskets have winding type, coated type and combined type.

The winding gasket is mixed and wound by corrugated metal tape of different materials and asbestos paper graphite tape or tetrafluoron tape of different properties, which has good elasticity and sealing performance. Applicable medium is also relatively wide (by metallic belt and non-metallic belt with a variety of combinations), generally applicable to 4 0 ~ 100 mpa valve. It is one of the gaskets commonly used in China.

Coated gasket is a metal plate coated non-metallic sealing material. In addition to the advantages of winding gasket, the coated gasket also has the characteristic that the non-metallic sealing material does not contact the medium. The metal material of theclad gasket is pure iron, mild steel and stainless steel. Non-metallic materials include asbestos, polytetrafluoroethylene, glass fiber, etc.

The combined gasket is a metal plate (the material is the same as the cladding type) coated with non-metallic sealing materials and metal springs. Because the metal spring is added to the clad gasket, the elasticity of the gasket is increased and the sealing performance is improved. Suitable for flammable, explosive, highly toxic and corrosive high pressure media.
