In fact, different rubber materials determine the performance of different products, but also determine the material you choose for rubber products.

Usually, one of the biggest characteristics of rubber material is high resistance, so rubber is a better insulation material, commonly used to make a variety of electrical insulation products, rubber material in the DC electric field are insulators. On the contrary, the rubber material in the alternating power plant, because of the charge bound on the macromolecular lotus or mixed with easily polarized impurities, according to the alternating power plant. It generates a displacement current and is polarized. And the relative amount of charge displacement expressed by the degree of polarization, that is, the magnitude of displacement current, determines the magnitude of conductance.

The vulcanization system has a significant influence on the electrical properties. Natural rubber and styrene butadiene rubber are mainly sulfurized, and different types of cross-linking bonds in the network structure of vulcanized rubber can make vulcanized rubber produce different dipole distances. Therefore, the amount of sulfur has an important influence on the electrical properties, and various electrical properties appear the maximum value with the change of the amount of sulfur. But when the amount of sulfur is too large, the heat resistance and water resistance are reduced. The representative vulcanization systems for the electrical insulation of butyl rubber are Kun kui vulcanization system and sulfur-accelerant vulcanization system. The sulfur-accelerator system is the best choice.

The electric insulation products of EPDM rubber can be vulcanized by peroxide. TAIC is added to TAIC. Common vulcanizing agents can prevent vulcanization and improve electrical properties. Carbon black can choose N88O or N990, light fillers such as talc, calcium carbonate, clay and so on by silane coupling agent treatment. It can improve the electrical insulation properties of vulcanized rubber. The softener should be polyester compounds with larger molecular weight.
